| At home, and when doing accounting work offsite for one of my employers, I print and save documents as .pdf files which I file on hard drive as I create them. They are easier to find and identify what tasks I have completed, etc, i.e. bank reconciliations, statements, payments, etc. I use a Mac computer whose print driver includes .pdf functions within it. For PC activities I have a free utility called Cute PDF that I can print to .pdf files in lieu of printing. I hardly ever use my printer anymore. You don't have to be a bookkeeper or accountant to do this. |
