To me, Valentine's Day is about showing loved ones, cherished friends and even pets a reminder that you truly care. Therefore, I think that giving 'certificates' of things you will do for them is great. They can be personalized so easily and yes, even for your pets they can be for massages, grooming or special treats. It is nice to be a 'giver' of these certificates too because you see the happiness you've given and that happiness comes back to you in it's viewing.

Dinner and a Movie... with a twist.
My husband and I like to participate in reenactments from several different past eras, so Valentine's day is a perfect time to pull out some of our finest costumes and celebrate our love. We'll set the table with candles, our best china, silver and glassware. Romantic music will be heard coming from the hidden musicians (CD) and I think I'll whip up the Romantic Five Course dinner that was featured in the Tip Hero email that I received. I'll design and make a personalized Valentine's card and give it to my husband at the table. After dinner, we'll retire to the "drawing room" to be captivated by a group of players acting out a play especially chosen for our entertainment(special movie pick).
My husband is very creative and there is no telling what he'll come up with for me this year. Whatever it is, it will be a joyful surprise.
That's our perfect Valentine's day!

The Dollar Tree has nice glass heart shaped dishes you can fill with Hershey candy hugs or kisses. This is a sweet gift for anyone.

Making his favorite meal & dessert. I love to show him that I love him through my cooking/baking. Which over the years has shown up on our hips.

My husband and I were married on Valentine's Day. So after spending the day together with our favorite meal and exchanging cards or gifts, we dance to the song that was played at our wedding, "Have I Told You Lately".

Our tradition is to make heart-shaped food... we make pizza and shape it like a heart and I have a heart-shaped pan we make brownies with. You can take a sugar cookie dough and shape that into a heart and make a fruit pizza (Google it) or just frost it. I just got a cool idea from Pinterest where you make cupcakes and stick a marble between the pan and the liners and bake... it makes the cupcakes heart-shaped! =)
