For those searching ways to save money on gas, here's one of the best tips I have come across. Utilize special offers to your advantage. For example, the revolution card is now offering $50 cash back on purchases made with their card. Please make sure you read the fine print on these offers. The Revolution card offer is 3 cent per gallon discount given at the pump ( must be murphy usa station) and $10 rebate on the first fice purchases of $25 or more. The way to take advantage of this offer is to purchase $25 of gas at a time. For each purchase:
Gas Price $1.50 With Card 1.47
Gals 16.67 17.01
price 25.00 25.00
Rebate 0.00 10.00
Real Cost $25.00 $15.00
So you not only pay less, you actually get more gas and your true cost per gallon is $1.13 per gallon.
This is just one scenario from one offer. please read the fine print to make sure you avoid any finance charges or fees and once this card is no longer paying you, the close tha account and find one that will.
