I bought fresh greens this summer and fall at a local farmer's market and noticed how long they lasted in our frig. The vendors didn't squeeze the air out of the bags when they filled, and the greens didn't have a lot of moisture on leaves.

Of course, a puffy bag takes up more space in the veggie bin of the refrigerator, but the greens I bought lasted many more days than storebought ones--sometimes, as long as two weeks longer.
