Rent Your College Books

Submitted by: Michael Coutts  01/27/2009 12:09 AM

Don't settle for the prices your university or college is asking for text books. I recently purchased $600 worth of text books from my school only to be surprised at the end of the semester they wouldn't buy some of them back. I ended up with $95 after all was said and done.

This semester I have spent only $125.00 by renting my text books from Chegg.com. This includes the cost of return shipping. Just make sure you order the correct version of the text book you need.

Before you rent and buy textbooks check out local and school libraries for the textbook you need. Also, for most science, history, and most other classes older editions work fine. As long as it the same author and publisher it is the same info with only an extra paragraph added to rip off students. If that fails you amazon is my favorite site to buy used books from! This semester I needed 15 textbooks for 5 classes (I am a history and political science major) and I only had to purchase 2 spending less then $50!

I too get my books from the college library. This works great, just get to the library first, as the books sometimes are gone if you wait too long. You could also check local public libraries, and other university libraries.
