Call Ahead to Save on Gas

Submitted by: anonymous  06/05/2008 1:53 AM

Yesterday I was about to drive down to the local scottrade brokerage office to make a change to my account. Before heading out I had the epiphany of calling first to see what was needed in order to make the change I was requesting. The broker told me he could make the changes over the phone saving me a car trip.

Now I'm on the hunt to find some shoe goo. I'm not sure which stores carry it so I've decided to call ahead to each story to enquire if they carry it and at what price. Before I would have just head out in my car going from store to store looking for the product.

Before heading out on errands it pays to ask yourself whether a phone call could eliminate the need for a trip.

This is a great tip. I encourage my husband to do this all the time. It has saved us a lot not only in gas but in time as well.
