Repurposing Popsicle Sticks

Submitted by: frugalgramma  02/09/2009 11:32 AM

We save the wooden sticks from ice cream treats, corn dogs, etc., to use for all kinds of craft and misc. household uses - kids' crafts, stirrers, scrapers and scoopers for all kinds of things in small quantities. We have also used them as shims in tiny spots, add to fire kindling, supports for seedling plants, and of course, for handles in your own homemade frozen treats! The list goes on. Just wash thoroughly and allow to dry completely.

I used to use popsicle sticks as a kid to make jewelry boxes with a lid. I would put a marble in the middle of lid as a knob to take lid off.

You and your kids can make a cool birdhouse as a rainy day project using popsicle sticks and whatever else you would like to adorn it with! Supervise children while using the hot glue gun.
