Make Your Own Half & Half for 50% Savings
Submitted by: anonymous 02/09/2009 8:31 PM
I have started making my own half and half for coffee. I buy light cream pour half of it into my own 1 quart pitcher and fill the rest of both with milk. Can't tell the difference and it's nearly half the price.

Great idea!! Can't wait to try this. I'm assuming whole milk would work best in this recipe?

Good idea. Also know that cream keeps much longer than milk or half and half; so less waste as well.

Thanks. I have a recipe calling for half and half and heavy cream. I'll just buy the heavy cream and give it a try with mixing with milk.
To add vanilla flavor, use DaVinci vanilla syrup. Or if you don't want to change the color, you can use Wilton's Clear Vanilla.
