A Little Car Cleaning and Prep Goes a Long Way

Submitted by: Tip Hero  05/03/2008 12:00 AM

Make sure to prep your car before negotiating a trade-in value with a dealer or putting it on the internet to try and sell it. If the car has any dents see if you can get them out. There are numerous ways to get small dents out of cars. I’ve removed car dents with a toilet plunger and I’ve seen videos online that show you how to remove dents with dry ice, and also canned air and a hair dryer. Just search for “removing car dents”. If your windshield is chipped you might spend the $50 to get it repaired.

Getting your car cleaned and detailed is also a pretty good idea. Shampooing and cleaning the upholstery, waxing your car, putting Armor All on the tires are all things that will help increase your resell value. When all is said and done the extra $100-200 dollars you invest in getting your car looking its best will be one of your best investments ever.
